Each class will be 2 hours on consecutive Saturdays.
Join us to design and build your very own epoxy river charcuterie board that is yours to take home once finished. All skill levels are welcome, this class will move at a pace for a beginner making their first epoxy charcuterie board.
The total cost for the class is $275 plus taxes = $100 plus tax at time of registration + $175 plus tax balance due on the day of the workshop. This class can also be done as a couple or pairs class (additional $50 plus tax on day of workshop), please note only one charcuterie board will be built per registration.
Day 1 - You will start the class by selecting your live edge pieces. We will go over the importance of dryness, lumber quality and why kiln drying is a must for epoxy work. We will then work with you and go over how to properly prepare your live edge pieces for a successful pour.
Next the epoxy, we will go over the different types of epoxy, how to calculate the correct amounts, properly mixing and colouring, safety and more. Once mixed you can select and refine your final colour, then the fun part.....pouring! Your custom project will be left to cure until the second day of the class.
Day 2 - Students will return to their charcuterie boards removed from their mold, flattened and trimmed to size. The next step we will walk you through all the finishing steps, starting with a rough sand and touching up any imperfections, applying an edge profile and final sanding. Once fully sanded it's time to apply the finish and see how your custom charcuterie board came out.
